The removal affects only the Mac desktop app. Voice functionality will continue to work normally on the ChatGPT website, accessible through any internet browser, and on mobile apps for iOS and Android. Windows desktop users will also maintain their voice access. Mac is the sole desktop platform losing this feature.
OpenAI has not provided extensive reasoning for singling out the Mac version.
