Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) has rolled out mass production of its innovative 100 V integrated gallium nitride (GaN) power-stage IC family, featuring models such as the EPC23108, EPC23109, EPC23110, and EPC23111. These advancements are tailored for high-performance motion-control applications, encapsulating high-side and low-side eGaN® FETs, gate drivers, and level-shifting circuits within compact, thermally optimized QFN packages. The new devices are engineered to handle operations up to 100 V with current ratings of either 35 A or 20 A, depending on the specific model. This integrated approach aims to bolster power density and efficiency while streamlining system design.

Among the notable features of this product family are fast fault shutdown, secure gate control during power outages, and continuous 100% duty-cycle operation. Additionally, single-input PWM options are provided for multi-axis motor-control applications. EPC also introduces the EPC91128, EPC91129, EPC91130, and EPC91131 three-phase BLDC motor-drive evaluation boards, which are built around the new power-stage ICs. These platforms incorporate essential components such as gate drivers, current and voltage sensing, housekeeping power supplies, as well as temperature monitoring and protection features.

These newly released devices are accessible via EPC’s extensive global distribution network, including renowned distributors like Digi-Key and Mouser. The target applications for these products are diverse, spanning humanoid robots, drones, industrial motor drives, medical equipment, synchronous rectification, and high-density DC-DC converters. Pricing for the EPC23108 and EPC23109 is set at US$3.70 each, while the EPC23110 and EPC23111 models are priced at US$2.47 each, based on bulk purchases of 3,000 units. Meanwhile, the evaluation boards EPC91128 and EPC91129 are priced at US$640 each, with the EPC91130 and EPC91131 slightly lower at US$630 each.

In addition to the product launch, EPC is also providing a technical white paper, available in both English and Chinese. This document delves into the architecture, design considerations, and evaluation platforms associated with the new integrated GaN power-stage ICs.
