Rhombus Unveils Cloud-Managed Single-Door Access Controller for Enhanced Security

by admin477351

Rhombus has introduced the DC10 Single-Door Controller, a new solution aimed at enhancing enterprise-level access control for single-door settings through a cloud-based system. This compact controller links individual doors directly to Rhombus’s cloud platform, offering features such as remote door management, lockdown capabilities, and integration with various smart sensors.

The DC10’s design is optimized for environments where a multi-door controller might be unnecessary, making it suitable for offices, retail outlets, restaurants, gyms, and other singular entry points. It comes equipped with one wet/dry relay, one auxiliary relay, and four inputs that can be supervised or unsupervised, allowing for functionalities like request-to-exit and door position monitoring. Its IK08-rated, plenum-mountable design facilitates installation in constrained spaces, including drop ceilings.

This controller supports 90 W PoE++ and PoE passthrough, enabling power and connectivity via a single cable while also supporting a nearby camera. Additionally, it features built-in connectivity for Rhombus sensors, such as environmental, intrusion, and motion detectors, and panic buttons, with a line-of-sight range extending up to 100 meters.

With options for Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, the DC10 ensures continuous cloud access, allowing operators to manage doors remotely without an on-site server. This solution is particularly beneficial for smaller or distributed locations, simplifying installation and reducing infrastructure needs.
